I took some of my students and their moms/grandmothers with me and another teacher to the streets of Charlotte to hand out clothing and hygiene items and food that my students collected. It was an awesome experience to see people who wouldn't normally do this and a family who was very close to being homeless because of financial reasons give to the homeless in Charlotte. Such a blessing.
I did a lot of mountain biking on my new mountain bike. I did some hiking with Kim & Jeff. Spent a lot of time in nature.
Took my class & the 2 Kindergarten classes to the NC Transportation Museum. We had a lot of fun.
I went to Marco Island, FL, and Key West, FL, for Spring Break. I did yoga on the beach in the morning. I spent the whole day sitting on the beach. I talked to maybe 4 people in the 7 days I was on Marco Island. It was Florida's declared Jimmy Buffett Day while I was on Key West. Found Jimmy's studio and talked to the manager for a while. I met my good friends from England on the ferry to Key West. So many pics I could share but I'll just give you a few. :)
I came back from Florida and Jimmy Buffett had a concert in Charlotte 4 days later. The PHCC tailgated for hours. I made the big screens while dancing in the aisle with some really drunk guy to one of Jimmy's songs. I was 7 rows from the stage.
At the end of the month, I helped with Party in the Park. A bunch of 20-somethings form The Cove Church put on this outreach in Mooresville. I was the "bouncer" of the moon bouncer my small group rented with my friend Tonya. I got to take little kids in and bounce them. Quite the workout!
What a fun month! 4 months sober. :)
