Finatic

Finally on Christmas Break!  Haven't had this many days off since last Christmas break.  This morning (yes, it's 7:15am) Fin actually let me sleep til 7.  Great way to start off my break (considering he's usually up at 5).  But, he's full of himself this morning (and it's only been 15 minutes) and not wanting to listen so he's in his crate for timeout!  

Yesterday we had our staff luncheon.  It takes place at our owners house.  Last year it was catered.  This year she cooked everything.  The food was good.  We did a t-shirt exchange this year.  We drew names and had to get a t-shirt that represented that person (either favorite sports team, things they like/like to do, funny quotes, inside jokes, etc.).  I drew my friend Emily's name.  There are a couple teachers I know really well and she's one of them.  She likes sports, the Panthers, UNCC, anything Charlotte... but I didn't take the "easy" way out with her.  Instead, I immediately thought about a shirt that says something about choir director/choir practice... We call Friday Happy Hour "Choir Practice" because it keeps the kids from knowing what it really is.  Emily is the one who always texts everyone or organizes it, so we call her the "Choir Director".  I went on CafePress (if you haven't been to their website, look it up because you can get a lot of fun shirts there) and found one I liked that said "Danger: Hot Choir Director" in the form of a danger sign you would see on a fence or building, etc.  When I went to see how much it would be + express shipping, it said over $35!!  So, I decided I would make my own!  [Designed the sign on my Mac, got the t-shirt and special printer iron-on film, and made the shirt.  Instead of the flame next to "Hot", I put a flaming margarita glass.  Haha.]  We did the exchange and she loved the shirt.  The person who had my name sent away for my shirt too but it didn't come in time.  She gave me a pic of the shirt... it's from Margaritaville Key West.  It says "FINATIC" on the top of it (and something under that but I don't remember).  She said she got it because I am a "Parrothead" and my dog's name is "Fin".  Perfect!  :)

This morning I'm going to the YMCA in NoDa for a yoga class (my instructor teaches there on Wednesday mornings but I can never go because of work... so I'm going this morning).  I need to do more Christmas shopping today/tomorrow.  And, of course, I still have knitting to do...  Looks like some people will get a picture of what they're getting (or a "gift certificate") and then get the item later on.  

I'm going to PA on Friday.  Fin is coming with me.  I will leave PA on Tuesday and maybe head to Baltimore for a day to see my friends Kevin and Laura and their baby Jacob.  

Well, Fin is back at his nonsense of not listening so I need to go discipline him (yes, he does get spanked).  He WILL be a good dog!  (I've been looking into different trainers for him... the one I want is $600+.  I will be looking at other ones that are a little more reasonable for my budget.)  The life of a puppy mommy...
